West Bromwich Albion have continued their pre-season preparations with a third straight victory as they beat Sacramento Republic 1-0 at Bonney Field in California.
Graham Dorrans's first-half penalty was enough for the Baggies, who had Craig Gardner sent off late on for two bookable offences.
The Baggies were without five first-team stars, with the likes of James Morrison, Chris Brunt and Gareth McAuley all ruled out through injury, but the Baggies took the lead when Dorrans converted from the spot after Victor Anichebe had been fouled 13 minutes in.
Thomas Stewart almost had an equaliser for the home side in the second half, but his fierce effort was saved by Boaz Myhill on 66 minutes.
Stewart was denied once again by Myhill when the Welsh stopper kept out a close-range volley with around 15 minutes remaining.
