West Bromwich Albion have reportedly rejected a loan bid from Derby County for winger James McClean.
The 28-year-old has been regarded as a squad player for much of his time at The Hawthorns, and Derby boss Gary Rowett had allegedly identified the midfielder as a potential addition before the end of the January transfer window.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Baggies head coach Alan Pardew has opted to keep the Republic of Ireland international in his first-team squad.
McClean has played just 11 minutes of football since the 2-0 win over Exeter City in the FA Cup at the start of the month, but Pardew is said to value the player, who can be used on either flank.
West Brom had been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Andre Schurrle - who plays a similar role to McClean - but Pardew has suggested that the German international will not be moving to the Premier League side.
