West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has said that he is bemused by England manager Roy Hodgson's overlooking of Mark Noble and Aaron Cresswell.
Around 40 Euro 2016 hopefuls were invited to St George's Park yesterday for a national team get-together with Hodgson, but neither Noble nor Cresswell were asked to attend.
The pair have helped West Ham up to sixth in the Premier League and through to the fifth round of the FA Cup, and Bilic believes that there are few better players at their respective positions in England.
"I haven't seen many midfielders who are having a better season than Mark Noble is having," Bilic told reporters.
"And it's not only Mark Noble. I haven't seen a better left-back than Aaron Cresswell. So they should at least be mentioned."
Neither player has ever turned out for the Three Lions or played at youth international level for England's Under-21s.
