West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell is to undergo a scan on the knee injury sustained during the end of Saturday's pre-season meeting with Karlsruher.
The 26-year-old was caught by a heavy challenge from Grischa Promel in the 3-0 win, leading to some treatment on the field before eventually making way with assistance from the Hammers' physio.
Cresswell has missed just one Premier League game for West Ham since joining from Ipswich Town in 2014, but now faces an anxious wait when undergoing a scan in the coming days.
After United fan site Claret and Hugh revealed the news, co-owner David Gold took to Twitter to confirm that the initial rumour had some substance to it.
"CandH sources are accurate and we are apprehensive but it doesn't look minor," he said. "We await the scans in the next day or so good luck Aaron. DG."
Andy Carroll, Sofiane Feghouli and Ashley Fletcher were all on target for West Ham in their latest pre-season friendly.
