Wigan Athletic defender James Perch has hailed manager Uwe Rosler's gameplan during their 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.
The Latics stunned City in the FA Cup for the second consecutive season, with Perch grabbing what proved to be the winning goal early in the second half to put his side through to the semi-finals.
However, the 28-year-old was quick to give credit to his manager for masterminding the victory that keeps Wigan on track to retain the trophy they won last season.
"It was just the gameplan we had all week, we've worked on it hard, we've had four weeks to prepare for it and the gaffer's got us geed up for this game," Perch told BT Sport.
"It's the FA Cup, I don't think you need to work too hard on getting people geed up, it's the magic of the FA Cup. [Rosler] told us to press them high and get in their faces, and they didn't like it. I think it paid off."
Wigan will face Arsenal in the semi-finals at Wembley in April.
