Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Wigan and Brentford as Uwe Rosler hosts his former club at the DW Stadium.

Uwe Rosler will see his struggling Wigan Athletic side host former club Brentford this weekend as he looks to end a dreadful run of form in the Championship.

The Latics have not won any of their last six outings, leaving them languishing perilously close to the relegation zone despite being many people's tips for promotion this season.

Indeed, they have not won since August and have tasted success just twice all season as Rosler continues to struggle to get his side hitting the heights of the second half of last term.

It is not all doom and gloom, however, with draws against Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers in their last two outings giving them points against sides who are in and around the promotion places.

Things look brighter at the DW Stadium too, with the Latics only having lost once at home all season and kept three clean sheets in their five games in front of their own fans.

Their vastly superior goal difference to Fulham means that it would take an unlikely pair of results for Wigan to drop into the bottom three this weekend, but Rosler will know that his side need to start winning soon if they are to avoid being dragged into trouble.

Adam Forshaw is pushing for a start against his former club having left in rather acrimonious circumstances during the summer, while Emyr Huws is a doubt with an ankle injury.

Both Rosler and Forshaw will be painfully aware that they trail their former club by 11 places and seven points in the Championship as things stand following a fine start to the campaign for the Bees.

They have adapted well to life in the second tier of English football having been promoted from League One last season, and a win could lift them into the playoff places depending on results elsewhere.

Mark Warburton's side went into the international break on the back of a very impressive 3-1 victory over Reading, and he will be hoping that some of that momentum will carry over into this weekend.

They will need an improvement on their travels for that to be the case, however, having lost their last two away games, conceding six goals in the process.

Warburton could opt for an unchanged side to the one that dispatched of the Royals earlier this month, with no new injury concerns for the visitors to worry about.
