Wolverhampton Wanderers have established a narrow 1-0 lead over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Bakary Sako's thumping 25-yard free kick has proved enough for Wolves to take a slender advantage into the interval.
The visitors could have gone ahead as early as the fifth minute, with Leigh Griffiths coming close to adding to his double from last week, but his 30-yard strike was expertly tipped past the post by City goalkeeper Frank Fielding.
Sako was the next player to try his luck from long range, but he saw his bid to open the scoring rebuffed by the impressive Robins keeper once more.
However, Fielding was powerless to prevent the Frenchman's next effort on goal, with the 25-year-old's free kick sailing into the back of the net.
Sean O'Driscoll's men seldom threatened the visitors' defence and Kenny Jackett's side take a slight yet deserved lead into half time.
