Kenny Jackett: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers have been riding their luck'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett admits that his side have been lucky to remain unbeaten during their most recent fixtures.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has admitted that his side need to improve or face getting caught out in future matches.

Wolves are second in the League One table, despite failing to perform convincingly in recent weeks, and Jackett has acknowledged that his team have rode their luck.

The 51-year-old told the club's official website: "I've told the players how I feel and that if we're not careful, these situations are going to cost us.

"We've led in most games and the link between scoring first and winning is very high – the stats through the leagues proves that. But late in games we ride our luck generally anyway, even if you look at some of our good wins like Colchester when they missed a late penalty and had chances.

"We've been reliant on our goalkeeper on many occasions. I, and we, need to learn from that, and the players' output has to be more in the second halves."

Wolves travel to Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup first round on Saturday.
