Former Birmingham forward James McFadden is expected to make a decision on his future this weekend.
The Scot, who is believed to favour a move to Wolves after spending two weeks training with the club this summer, is also understood to be attracting interest from former club Everton, Sunderland and Celtic.
"We are due to know very quickly," Wolves chief executive Jez Moxley told the Express and Star.
"I'm expecting an answer over the weekend. But there is no rush as I don't think he will be fully fit until the end of October."
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is reportedly keen on adding the 28-year-old to his front-line, following Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's recent injury.
