Yeovil Town were looking to continue their 100% start to their first-ever season in the second tier when Birmingham City visited Somerset this afternoon.
It didn't go that way though as the Blues left with the points to claim their first victory of the campaign.
Read how it all unfolded at Huish Park in our minute-by-minute updates below.
Afternoon all! Our Saturday afternoon feature match from the Championship involves newly-promoted Yeovil Town and Lee Clark's Birmingham City.
First things first, here are the teams...
YEOVIL XI: Stech; Ayling, Webster, Seaborne, Tate; Foley, Edwards, Upson, Dawson; Madden, Hayter
BRUM XI: Randolph; Mullins, Burn, Robinson; Eardley, Adeyemi, Elliott, Shinnie, Ferguson; Novak, Green
Gary Johnson names the same Yeovil side that won at Millwall last week while it's one change for Clark as Hayden Mullins replaces Kyle Bartley.
Both teams were also in action on Tuesday night in the first round of the Capital One Cup. The pair made it into the second round as Yeovil edged out Southend and Birmingham defeated Plymouth. The Blues might be a tiny bit more tired today though as they had to play extra time to beat Argyle.
Although these two have never met before, they're now on course to face off three times this season as they drew each other in the second round of the League Cup!
REFEREE WATCH: Today's man in charge is Tim Robinson.
PREDICTION! With just 10 minutes until we get underway at Huish Park, it's time for my thoughts on the match ahead. Yeovil will be full of confidence because of their 100% start to the season, but Birmingham should offer a tougher challenge than Millwall last week and I see a 1-1 draw happening.
As always on SM we'll have half-time and full-time reports for all of the Championship matches, as well as roundups and reports from Leagues One and Two. To see all of the matches taking place today, click here.
The two sides are out at Huish Park. Birmingham are in their away kit of neon yellow while Yeovil's green and white hoops are unmistakeable.
It must be strange for Yeovil fans to see Dan Burn turning out for the opposition after he spent last season on loan with the Glovers. We're almost ready to go.
KICKOFF! We're underway at a sunny Huish Park.
Little to speak of in the opening exchanges at Huish Park. There's a great atmosphere though as this is the first ever match at this stadium in the second tier.
Adeyemi almost pulls off a smart turn in the area but has the ball just taken off him. Corner to the visitors. Elliott takes but that's an easy catch for Stech in the Yeovil goal.
Elliott floats over another free kick that Webster does well to clear ahead of Novak. The Glovers skipper stays down with a head injury though. Keeper Stech is also receiving treatment and replacement stopper Stewart is being readied on the bench.
YEOVIL SUB: It looks like it could be a sprained wrist for Stech and his afternoon ends very quickly. Gareth Stewart is on in his place and must be a little nervous on what is a huge day for Yeovil.
A real shame for Stech, who was the goalkeeper in our team of the week on the opening weeekend.
Last week's match-winner Ed Upson was another to make the team of the week. He's just played in Madden down the right but he couldn't pick out Hayter in the middle.
Yeovil right-back Ayling has a pop from range but that's never troubling Randolph who watches it trickle past the post.
UPDATE: The first goals of the day go in at Vicarage Road and the Reebok. The home sides lead in both as Watford go ahead against Bournemouth and Bolton lead Reading.
Mullins arrives late on Madden and referee Robinson rightly blows up. He gives the former Hammer a talking to but keeps his cards in his pocket.
Adeyemi tumbles on the edge of the area and throws his hands up in appeal. It did look late but Robinson wasn't insterested. Neither keeper has had a save to make yet.
CHANCE! Elliott clips a ball over the top and Shinnie has beaten the offside trap to but doesn't connect with a free header from eight yards. Poor.
DOUBLE SAVE! Great stuff from Randolph in the Blues' goal. A deep free kick was headed back across goal before it fell to Webster. He unleashes a left-foot volley that Randolph could only parry into the path of Madden. Last season's top scorer stoops to meet it with his head but Randolph is up to catch it on the line.
Green peels away to the back post and he's picked out by Ferguson but can't get anywhere near enough on his header to trouble Stewart.
YELLOW! Eardley slides in on Davis, who had escaped his clutches, from behind.
UPDATE: Not many goals in the 10 matches in the Championship so far today. Brighton took the lead against Derby but the Rams have since equalised. Another team who have drawn level is Bournemouth, just now at Watford.
Novak is found on the right and decides to go for goal but blazes his shot well over the top.
SAVE! Nice one-two between Shinnie and Green. The former is found on the right of the area but doesn't have much of an angle so it's a simple enough stop at his near post for Stewart.
YELLOW! Another Birmingham name in the book is Ferguson for a high, studs-showing foot on Ayling. A little harsh, that.
UPDATE: Hello hello! Bit of a surprise scoreline coming from West Yorkshire as Huddersfield take the lead against QPR. Burnley are also two ahead at Sheffield Wednesday.
Upson is hacked down by Elliott, who is who may well be sporting the worst haircut in the Football League.
UPDATE: Huddersfield's lead over QPR didn't last long! Junior Hoilett equalising for Harry Redknapp's side.
Shinnie wants a penalty as he appears to be nudged in the back when trying to meet a high ball. Robinson shakes his head, that would have been a harsh call on Tate.
LUCKY BOY! Eardley, who has already been booked, should be off. His studs are very high on the follow-through and Yeovil boss Johnson is furious that he's just been given a final warning there.
Novak has his head in his hands as referee Robinson fails to notice that Webster clearly deflected his volley out for a corner. FIVE minutes are added on because of the early injury to Glovers keeper Stech.
OFF THE POST! A Birmingham clearance ricochets into the path of Hayter. He tries to beat Randolph with a low shot at his near post but doesn't quite get enough curl to make it inside the post.
HALF-TIME: Yeovil 0-0 Birmingham
Not much to report from the opening 45 at Huish Park. It's been a pretty even contest that Yeovil have perhaps slightly edged. The main talking point concerns Neil Eardley who, after making two nasty challenges, maybe shouldn't be on the pitch anymore.
Yeovil's official Twitter feed just wrote: "Just spoken to the physio. Marek (Stech) has been taken to hospital for a X-ray. #ytfc"
My apologies, but it seems that Eardley didn't actually see yelow for that slide from behind on Davis midway through the half. In that case, how has he not been booked at all?!
You should be able to see all of the live scores on the right of this page (unless you're on our mobile site). For more info, such as goals and cards, click here.
The two teams are back out. Neither side has made any half-time changes. Johnson did have to make one change early on though, remember.
KICKOFF! We're back underway in Somerset.
GOAL! Yeovil 0-1 Birmingham (Seaborne og.)
*COMEDY GOAL ALERT* A corner from the right is swung over and headed away from goal by a green-and-white shirt, only to smack Seaborne's head and go back into the goal.
YELLOW! The first Yeovil name into the book is Foley for bringing down Shinnie.
YELLOW! Upson is the next to be cautioned by Robinson. He's getting his cards out a little too easily here.
Madden has a couple of openings to equalise for the home side. First, he couldn't connect with Hayter's low cross before being left wide open in the area. His header from Davis's cross was straight at Randolph though.
YELLOW! Another card! This time it's Birmingham's Robinson who is cautioned for a high boot.
WHAT A SAVE! Early save of the season contender from Randolph! Upson's free kick is met by Webster who heads down into the ground but somehow the Birmingham keeper manages to use his left foot to kick it up onto the crossbar and safety.
UPDATE: Watford now lead 4-1 against Birmingham while Reading have equalised at Bolton and Ipswich lead Millwall.
YEOVIL SUBS: Johnson makes his second and third changes, with Ngoo and Hoskins on for Foley and Madden.
Well worked free kick from Yeovil almost produces a goal. Instead of going for goal, Upson lays it off and the man running in fires at goal, with Burn making a good block.
BIRMINGHAM SUB: Reilly comes on for Green.
BEATEN AWAY! Shinnie gets in behind the home defence and is found by Novak's clever outside-of-the-boot pass. The angle isn't great so he lashes at goal but Stewart won't be beaten from there.
Ngoo can't rise high enough to meet Tate's cross and he's actually injured himself in trying to do so. He holds his groin and may have pulled the muscle. Johnson has already used his subs so he'll be hoping that the Liverpool loanee is OK to continue.
It looks like Ngoo will be able to carry on. Down the other end Birmingham almost make it two as Novak goes for goal from distance and surprises Stewart, who fumbles before gathering at the second attempt.
Into the final 10 minutes we go. Can Yeovil find an equaliser to delight to the Huish Park fans in their first ever Championship match?
Nervy defending from Novak gifts Yeovil a corner...
Upson's delivery is met by Seaborne but he gets under his header as he tries to atone for his header into the net at the other end.
UPDATE: Watford and Ipswich are having great afternoons. The Hornets now lead 5-1 while Ipswich have scored three in the second half to see off Millwall. Middlesbrough leading at Charlton too.
FREE KICK to Yeovil right on the edge...
JUST WIDE! Upson tries to beat Randolph on his side of the goal but it flashes wide of the left-hand post.
FIVE minutes for Yeovil to find a leveller.
LATE GOAL UPDATE: Blackpool and Forest seem to have stolen wins against Barnsley and Blackburn respectively.
Novak takes the ball to the corner before laying it back to Reilly, who decides that he doesn't want to wind down the clock but instead whack it out of the ground!
FULL-TIME: Yeovil 0-1 Birmingham
Birmingham pick up their first points of the season then thanks to Dan Seaborne's unfortunate own goal.
It's a reverse in fortunes for the two clubs this weekend that sees them level on everything in 13th and 14th in the table.
