Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has admitted that he does not know why he has struggled in Hungary so far this weekend.

The German qualified second for the race tomorrow, but finished over half a second behind Lewis Hamilton.

Rosberg seemed to be struggling from oversteer, and Mercedes technical director Paddy Lowe apologised to him after the team failed to discover a configuration problem yesterday.

Rosberg told reporters: "Qualifying went to plan, I just didn't find the pace. It has been up and down all weekend for some unexplained reason.

"It was a bit all over the place in qualifying. I just wasn't happy and I don't understand it. It was a bit inconsistent, it's difficult to explain. I don't know."

Rosberg will start ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.
