Rory McIlroy is still in contention to win the Texas Open after a one-under third round of 71 left him four shots behind leader Billy Horschel.
Friday's round of 67 put the Northern Irishman right "in the mix" but he couldn't follow it up with a similar score on day three.
"I'm still in a decent position going into the last day and hopefully I can make a run of it," said the world number two, who entered the tournament late in an attempt to try and play himself into some form ahead of next week's Masters.
Horschel leads the way thanks to a round of 70 that maintained his two-shot advantage over fellow Americans Jim Furyk and Charley Hoffman.
