A goal from Arjen Robben has given Bayern Munich the lead against CSKA Moscow at the break in their Champions League clash.
The hosts came close to opening the scoring with five minutes on the clock when Zoran Tosic's strike was deflected wide after Bayern had failed to clear a Keisuke Honda corner.
Bayern took the lead on 16 minutes when Thomas Muller broke free down the left and picked out Robben, who fired a powerful finish beyond Igor Akinfeev.
The holders almost doubled their lead shortly after, but Robben was given offside after connecting with Toni Kroos's cross.
Bayern enjoyed the majority of the possession but struggled to break down a stubborn CSKA defence.
Three minutes before the break Rafinha fired a dangerous cross into the box which Muller almost converted, but two CSKA defenders managed to clear the ball to safety.
