Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has insisted that he was not at fault for the car accident that resulted in his arrest for alleged drink-driving.
The 28-year-old, who is currently representing Chile in the Copa America, is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol when his Ferrari collided with another vehicle on the motorway in Santiago.
Vidal's wife Maria Teresa Matus was a passenger in the car, and she and her husband were sent to hospital, but escaped serious injuries.
Despite allegations of drink-driving, Vidal defended himself in a video message, in which he said: "Hello. Today I was in a traffic accident - it wasn't my fault. I am well, my family are well, and thanks for everything."
Following the crash, rumours emerged suggesting that Vidal will be dropped from Friday's Copa America clash against Bolivia.
