Neil Warnock reveals that he made substitutions during Leeds United's 1-1 draw against Birmingham City last weekend despite being in bed during the match through illness.

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has revealed that he made substitutions from his sickbed during last weekend's FA Cup match against Birmingham City.

Warnock was absent for the 1-1 draw through illness but has shared how he kept up with the match through a combination of internet and radio and phoned through subs to his team of coaches.

He told The Independent: "As you may have heard, I missed our FA Cup tie against Birmingham City last week because of illness.

"Fortunately, I was well enough by last Saturday to follow the match on Yorkshire Radio via LUTV on the computer and have some input. It was hardly ideal and agony to listen to, but Eddie Gray was commentating and he knows what he's talking about.

"I spoke to Mick Jones and Ronnie Jepson on the phone and decided we should make a couple of changes at half time. We were losing so I decided to be positive and luckily we got a goal back and are still in the Cup."

Warnock also declared that he is on the mend and is well enough to be back on the touchline for tomorrow's Yorkshire derby against Barnsley.
