A late train service has been offered to Manchester City and Wigan Athletic fans to ensure that supporters can return to the North-West at a later time following the FA Cup final in London.
The Football Association have sparked controversy by deciding to stage the May 11 final at Wembley at 5.15pm, following on from last year's evening kickoff between Chelsea and Liverpool.
Due to the uproar, a train service has offered supporters evening train services from Wembley Central station to the Northern regions for £29,000 per train.
"We can certainly do it," Simon Pielow from trainchartering.com told the Daily Mail. "We have the locos, carriages and train crew for one train to Wigan and one to Manchester, from Wembley Central, subject to payment and Network Rail planning.
"Two charter trains each with 640 seats and a buffet car. Return travel is £29,000 per train, equivalent to £45.31 return, based on a full train. The cheapest fare online on regular trains is £75.70."
The scheduled last train from the capital back to Wigan is at 8.30pm, while City fans will have to make the 9pm train from Euston to get back to Manchester that evening.
