Bookmakers Paddy Power are reportedly responsible for the Grim Reaper stunt targeted at Manchester United manager David Moyes.
A spectator dressed as 'death' and wielding an inflatable scythe gestured towards the Scotsman during his first visit to Goodison Park since leaving Everton last summer.
The man, who was wearing a Paddy Power shirt, was ejected from the ground on Merseyside midway through the first half of United's 2-0 defeat on Sunday.
According to the Daily Mail, the bookmakers came up with the publicity stunt, while a spokesman is quoted as saying: "It's gone from bad to worse for David Moyes this season, which means the Grim Reaper could be looking to call time on his Old Trafford career."
Moyes, who spent 11 years as Everton manager, was booed by a large majority of the Toffees supporters.
