Sergio Garcia is in danger of losing his sponsorship following the "fried chicken" jibe he directed at Tiger Woods.
The Spaniard has made no secret of the fact that he and the world number one do not get on away from the course, but their feud was intensified when Garcia joked at an awards event that he would serve fried chicken to Woods if he were invited to his home for dinner.
Following the comment, Garcia apologised for any offence caused by his words that could be deemed as a racial slur.
A statement from TaylorMade-adidas said: "Sergio Garcia's recent comment was offensive and in no way aligns with TaylorMade-adidas Golf's values and corporate culture.
"We have spoken with Sergio directly and he clearly has regret for his statement and we believe he is sincere. We discussed with Sergio that his comments are clearly out of bounds and we are continuing to review the matter."
Meanwhile, Woods responded to the comments yesterday by admitting that he felt 'hurt'.
