Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso has admitted that he does not have a friendship with teammate Cristiano Ronaldo off the pitch.
The former Liverpool midfielder said that he has "almost no relationship" with the Portugal star outside of football, but made it clear there is mutual respect.
"Between him and me there is appreciation and professional respect," he told ETB.
"Clearly not everyone in the locker room are friends of mine and outside there is almost no relationship between us. But inside the dressing room, we get along. Cristiano is no diva.
"He is a very ambitious person and has strong self-belief. He is an important player for the team."
The Spaniard went on to praise Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, revealing that his he "always learning" from his coach.
