Sheffield United have suspended striker Jose Baxter for failing a Football Association drugs test.
The 23-year-old was found to have traces of a banned substance in his system during an out-of-competition test. It is not yet known when the test was carried out.
Baxter has informed the club that he has not done anything wrong in regards to banned substances.
However, the club has suspended the player "temporarily" pending further investigations.
Baxter scored 13 goals for the Blades this season, but they fell short of earning promotion to the Championship.
