Stoke City centre-forward Peter Crouch has been handed a £1,000 fine for speeding in his Range Rover Sport in November of last year.
The 31-year-old was clocked doing 49mph in a 30mph zone along a stretch of the A538 towards Macclesfield.
Crouch entered a guilty plea at a short hearing at Macclesfield Magistrates' Court, who also decided to add five penalty points to the striker's licence earlier today.
The former England striker already had four points to his name from a previous motoring offence, meaning that he is now just three short of receiving a suspension from driving.
A charge of failing to provide the authorities with information was dropped.
