USA's footballers were honoured at the annual Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly awards in Los Angeles following their World Cup campaign in Brazil.

Seattle Sounders star Clint Dempsey, who used to play for Tottenham Hotspur, posed for photographs along the red carpet before the team picked up the gong for Best Moment.

Jurgen Klinsmann's side captured the attention of the US viewers during the World Cup, but the team failed to progress into the quarter-finals following a 2-1 defeat to Belgium.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo won the award for Best International Athlete, while NBA forward Kevin Durant was among the honours with two awards, one of which was Male Athlete of the Year.

Other sports stars in attendance were French Open champion Maria Sharapova and undefeated boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr, who presented an award alongside the Russian tennis star.
