Catalans Dragons rising star Mickael Goudemand has signed his first full-time contract to remain with the French outfit until the end of the 2021 season.
The 22-year-old started the 2018 season as a part-time player with the reserve team which went on to win the Coupe de France, before making his first-team debut against Whitehaven in the Challenge Cup in May.
Goudemand featured in Catalans’ historic Wembley showpiece final win over Warrington in August and played a further nine Super League matches, with the loose forward’s performances earning a call-up to the France national team and the Rookie of the Year award with the Dragons.
Head coach Steve McNamara told the club’s official website: “Mickael’s first full-time contract is reward for his effort, commitment and desire that he has shown throughout 2018.
“From being a part-time player to playing a significant role in our Wembley victory is a great lesson for all involved with our club.
“We look forward to seeing Micka continue his improvement in 2019 and beyond.”
