Huddersfield Giants have demolished Hull FC 76-18 in tonight's Super League preliminary semi-final at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Giants opened the scoring in the second minute when Leroy Cudjoe strolled over the line, thanks to good attacking play down the right.
The home side increased their lead when Danny Brough produced a great kick to release Luke Robinson behind the Hull defence, allowing him to easily breeze over the line.
Scott Grix then turned up to put even more pressure on Hull, as he used his pace on the left flank to easily outrun the visitors' defence and score the Giants' third try of the night.
Things got increasingly worse for the away side when Robinson found a gap with far too much ease, before holding off three defensive challenges to see the ball over the line.
Aaron Murphy then joined in on the try-scoring action, as did Grix who grabbed his second of the night, before Hull finally managed to get themselves on the scoresheet with an effort from Jamie Shaul in the 25th minute.
Shaul's effort was to be Hull's last of the half, as Robinson again latched onto a kick and outjumped two defensive challenges for his third try of the night.
As Hull limped towards the interval, they were to receive further damage as Shaun Lunt caught the ball one-handed when he made his way to the line. Lunt was then followed by Robinson, who bagged his fourth of the evening to leave the score at 54-6 going into the break.
Hull's nightmare continued straight into the second half as Cudjoe increased Huddersfield's lead, before the visiting side grabbed what was to prove a mere consolation try when Tom Briscoe got through following a defensive misjudgment.
With the game basically concluded midway through the second half, Huddersfield strolled to victory with further tries from Lunt, Brett Ferres and Craig Kopczak to leave the final score at 76-18.
