Salford City Reds score nine tries past Halifax to win 50-28 in a Super League Qualifier.

Salford City Reds produced some attacking brilliance to beat Halifax 50-28 in a Super League Qualifier this afternoon.

Salford started the stronger of the two teams and as Harrison Hansen teed up Niall Evalds to score. Josh Griffin added the extra two before Evalds grabbed his second just two minutes later.

A break from Griffin on the left wing saw him pass to Greg Johnson, who kicked into centre field where Evalds was waiting to score. Griffin converted before Dean Manning got Halifax on the board after rumbling over the line, and Steve Tyrer added the conversion.

Salford then got two quick tries. First, Johnson got sent over after a clever dummy from Liam Hood, before Ben Jones-Bishop raced through the Fax defence for the try. Griffin was only able to convert Jones-Bishop's try.

George Griffin had a try disallowed after half time before Scott Murrell followed up his own kick to put pressure on Evalds and pounce on the loose ball to score. Tyrer converted before Evalds made amends to score his hat-trick, picking up a dropped ball to race away and score.

Michael Dobson converted this time before James Saltonstall finished in the corner for Halifax. Tyrer missed the chance to add the extra two, before Jacob Fairbank's converted try brought Fax within four points.

Salford then got another two tries in quick succession, Jones-Bishop and Johnson both going the length of the field to score their respective tries. Both tries were converted before both men scored again to end the match with hat-tricks.

Adam Tangata scored for Halifax as they tried to claw something out of the game but they were unable to break through the Reds' defence again.
