A Ben Cockayne second-half hat-trick denied Hull KR any chance of a comeback as Wakefield Trinity Wildcats recorded a 36-20 win over the Yorkshire outfit.
The Wildcats were forced to wait until the 18th minute for their first try of the game, but Paul Aiton went over to put them ahead.
Reece Lyne and Peter Fox quickly added tries as the hosts raced into a 18-0 lead.
However, Hull reduced the deficit to just 10 points before the break as Cory Paterson and Craig Hall went over, combined with Michael Dobson's conversion to make it 18-10 to the hosts at half time.
Wakefield wasted little time in extending their lead after the break when Dean Collis stormed over before Paul Sykes added his fourth conversion of the game to give the home side a 24-10 advantage.
Hull struck back with a try six minutes later from Josh Hodgson, before his namesake David Hodgson added another in the 56th minute. Dobson's successful conversion from the former's try brought the score to 24-20.
However, two tries in five minutes from Ben Cockayne added a further eight points for the Wildcasts, before the player completed his hat-trick two minutes from time to secure the hosts a 36-20 victory.
