Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith has refused to criticise his players following their dramatic defeat to St Helens in Super League.
The Wolves saw their top-eight hopes suffer a minor blow on home turf last night as Jordan Turner's late try earned the Saints a 20-14 triumph.
While admitting his disappointment at losing the game, Smith believes that Warrington's overall performance was pleasing.
"I'm disappointed to lose but it was a super try to win it and a great game of rugby league. I don't mind conceding those tries because they take some scoring," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"We gave ourselves a real chance and, if we play with that sort of spirit in defence and with a few improvements to our attack, I think we'll win a few more games this year."
Warrington are back in action on July 26 when they travel to Castleford Tigers in Super League.
