Julian Montoya has revealed his eagerness to see Argentina captain Agustin Creevy recover from an injury to start against Australia in Sunday's World Cup semi-final.
Creevy was forced off in the latter stages of the quarter-final triumph over Ireland at the weekend after taking a knock to his leg, and he faces a race to prove his fitness ahead of the game with the Wallabies at Twickenham.
Montoya would be the obvious candidate to earn a spot in the starting lineup should the skipper not be available, but the hooker is hopeful his teammate is 100%.
"We're very hopeful that Agus will be able to start," he told reporters.
"He's the captain, he's an excellent player, an excellent person, so he's very influential."
Montoya has come off the bench four times at this World Cup.
