Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld has confirmed that Kyle Eastmond has been "disciplined" by the club after the centre walked out on his teammates during last week's win at Sale Sharks.
The Oldham-born 24-year-old reportedly drove home at half time in the 27-20 victory in the LV= Cup.
"The situation is being dealt with," Blofeld told The Times. "Kyle has been disciplined but we are also helping him in what are difficult personal circumstances for him."
Eastmond is believed to be disillusioned with rugby union and keen to return to rugby league.
He switched codes in 2011 after making 74 senior appearances in four years at St Helens.
