Olly Barkley kicked an impressive 21 points as Bath recorded a 46-14 victory over Northampton Saints in the LV Cup.

Barkley settled into the game quickly, with two early penalties to give Bath an early lead.

Northampton's Stephen Myler matched Barkley's accuracy and the two players traded penalties until the first try of the match was scored in the 37th minute.

Bath's Ross Batty managed to find space and force himself over the line and Barkley scored the following conversion to give the home side some breathing space.

Myler managed to score his third penalty of the match on the stroke of half time.

After the break, Anthony Perenise scored an outstanding individual try to extend Bath's lead and Barkley was once again on hand to score the conversion.

Alex Waller gave Northampton a route back into the match on 45 minutes with a well-taken try but Myler failed to complete the conversion.

However, winger Ollie Woodburn added another try for Bath in the 70th minute to begin a late rush of scoring for the home side.

Stephen Donald scored the fourth try for Bath in the 73rd minute and replacement Charlie Beech added another in the 76th minute.

A third Barkley conversion completed the scoring for Bath.
