Bath head coach Gary Gold has admitted that his side's playoff chances now look slim following Friday's defeat to Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership.
A late try from Tom Brady gave the Sharks a narrow 14-13 victory at the Salford City Stadium.
"We came in here today setting ourselves goals and objectives to hopefully be in the top four. That's probably gone now but never say never," Gold told Sky Sports News.
"We'll probably be written off by everybody now so we've got a lot to prove.
"It was incredibly frustrating. It was always going to be a game of very small margins."
The defeat has left seventh-placed Bath six points off the playoff places in the table.
