A dominant final 20 minutes has given Connacht a comfortable 42-19 win over Bayonne in the European Rugby Challenge Cup this evening.
Danie Poolman added a brace of tries before half time to give the Irish side the lead at the break, but four first-half penalties from Martin Bustos Moyano ensured that the visitors were just three points behind at the interval.
Florian Lapeyrade put the visitors ahead with a quick burst into Connacht territory before diving over in the corner shortly after the restart.
However, the hosts rallied, adding three tries in the space of 12 minutes late on to establish an unassailable lead.
The win leaves the Irish team second in their pool, while Bayonne stay bottom.
