Newport Gwent Dragons fight back from 14-3 down to clinch a 25-21 win over Cardiff Blues in the European Rugby Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Newport Gwent Dragons have come from 11 points down to secure a 25-21 win over Cardiff Blues in the quarter-finals of the European Rugby Challenge Cup this afternoon.

The visitors made a strong start as Lloyd Williams opened the scoring less than five minutes in with a sprint for the try line, before Gareth Anscombe added a second.

Cardiff continued to dominate possession throughout the first half, but Hallam Amos managed to cut the deficit to four points for Newport just before the break, diving over in the corner.

The Dragons were ahead for the first time early in the second half when Nic Cudd was found with a pass out wide, giving the hosts their second try of the game.

Williams was sent to the sin bin shortly after for dragging Jonathan Evans down by his shirt, which also handed the home side a penalty try.

Josh Navidi made it close late on as he burst through to score a third for Cardiff, but the visitors could not find another in the final minutes, leaving Newport to progress to the last four.

Newport will face either London Irish or Edinburgh in the last four.
