England hooker Dylan Hartley has been released from hospital after suffering a bruised lung during Saturday's defeat to New Zealand at Twickenham Stadium.
The 27-year-old was forced off the pitch following a tackle on Richie McCaw in the 52nd minute of the match.
Hartley has now been discharged from hospital in order to return to his club Northampton Saints for further assessment.
"Dylan has been discharged into the care of Northampton," read an official statement from the Rugby Football Union.
"He will require a few days' rest and will be re-assessed by his club's medical team next week."
Hartley won his 50th cap for England during the 30-22 loss against the All Blacks.
