England flanker Tom Wood has praised the character of his teammates following Saturday's narrow defeat to New Zealand at Twickenham Stadium.
The hosts fought back in the second half to lead by two points with 20 minutes to play, but a late surge from the All Blacks saw the visitors come away with a 30-22 triumph.
Despite the loss, Wood believes that England should be proud of their performance against the world champions.
"The talk in the changing room now is chins up," he told BBC Sport. "We have let that one slip, we had them and we got a little bit careless. It is disappointing.
"Credit goes to them because they are a class outfit and they are not fazed in the last 20 minutes.
"We had the armoury to put them away. Giving them that start isn't ideal but a huge amount of character was shown."
England will now prepare for next year's Six Nations, which starts in February.
