Ireland are beaten by New Zealand in Dublin with a late try and conversion in an astonishing match this afternoon.

New Zealand have beaten Ireland with a last-minute try and re-taken conversion.

The hosts got off to a perfect start when Conor Murray edged over the line after a surging home attack.

The All Blacks responded by pushing their opponents back, but Ireland extended their lead to 14-0 when Cian Healy and Rory Best combined, before Sean O'Brien and Murray made it to within touching distance of the line.

Despite O'Brien being held back, Best forced himself over in the tackle and Jonny Sexton converted.

Ireland's impressive start continued when Rob Kearney collected the ball from Israel Dagg and roared home from 80m out.

However, New Zealand began to edge back into the match and reduced the deficit when Julian Savea powered over after collecting Aaron Cruden's kick.

Not that Ireland seemed flustered, however. Sexton again kicked over to push them over the 20-point mark.

The pace of the match continued at the start of the second half. New Zealand poured forward and Cruden kicked over. However, the same player then missed another penalty, pulling his kick to the left.

The All Blacks pushed forward and Ben Franks bashed through the Irish defensive line to close the gap.

Ireland then missed a penalty as the match entered its final five minutes, but the All Blacks made sure of a 100% record in 2013 with Ryan Crotty going over and Cruden drilling his second attempt through the middle with just seconds remaining.
