Leicester Tigers kicked off their European Rugby Champions Cup campaign with a 25-18 victory over Ulster at Welford Road this evening.
Owen Williams got the hosts off the mark when he crossed over on 16 minutes to cancel out Paddy Jackson's earlier penalty, while Graham Kitchener further extended his side's lead with a try of his own just short of the half hour.
The Tigers were sitting comfortably at the interval courtesy of a third try of the night, as Freddie Burns touched down.
Jackson found the sticks with a second penalty on 49 minutes, shortly after Williams had himself kicked over to ensure that Richard Cockerill's men were still in command.
Tries from Tommy Bowe and Franco van der Merwe made things interesting with 10 minutes left to play, although Leicester managed to stand firm to see out the remainder of the opening pool 3 game.
