Leicester Tigers survived a strong second-half performance from Exeter Chiefs to clinch a 25-18 win in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.
Try-scoring opportunities were few and far between in the first half, but Freddie Burns kicked four penalties to give the home side the lead.
Exeter closed the gap early in the second half when Thomas Waldrom intercepted a pass from Jordan Crane to run the ball over for the visitors.
Geoff Parling restored Leicester's lead, but the visitors continued to create chances and cut the gap again when Will Chudley burst over. However, they were unable to find the line again in the final 10 minutes.
The result moves Leicester above Exeter into third place in the table, 12 points adrift of leaders Northampton.
