London Welsh's Amlin Challenge Cup campaign has got off to a losing start as they were brushed aside 68-19 by Stade Francais at the Kassam Stadium.
Despite a try from Greg Bateman and 11 points from the boot of Gavin Henson, the hosts found themselves 16-32 down at the break after scores from Remi Bonfils, Hugo Bonneval and a brace from Waisea Nayacalevu.
Bonneval then stretched his team's lead two minutes into the second half with a drop goal.
Stade Francis were rarely threatened in the second period and went further ahead thanks to tries from Francis Fainifo and Bonfils.
It got worse for London Welsh with 20 minutes to play through Juan Cruz Guillemain's before Felip Contepomi touched down at the death.
