London Irish have got back to winning ways in the Amlin Challenge Cup with a 20-14 victory over Mont-de-Marsan in France.
A first win in three matches has seen Brian Smith's side temporarily move to within three points of Pool 1 leaders Gloucester.
The visitors went ahead through Steven Shingler's penalty on 12 minutes before a Jack Moates try, converted by Shingler, gave Irish a 10-0 lead at the break.
Moates went over again seven minutes after the restart to extend his side's lead, while Shingler added the extras.
Simon Lucu's try on 57 minutes was converted by Thibault Duvallet, but Irish added to their tally through Guy Armitage's penalty.
Lucu set up a nervy final five minutes for the away side when he ran the length of the pitch to score before Jean-Baptiste Claverie added the extras.
However, Irish were able to resist a late Mont-de-Marsan attack to hold on for the points.
