Jake White has been appointed as director of rugby at Natal-based franchise the Sharks.
The 50-year-old, who coached South Africa during their triumphant World Cup campaign in 2007, replaces Brendan Venter.
"We are immensely happy to confirm the appointment of Jake White as our new director of rugby," Sharks chief executive John Smit, who captained the Springboks skipper under White, told the club's official website.
"We formed a formidable relationship during my playing career and I am delighted to re-establish that partnership, which is in line with our vision to take the Sharks to the next level."
White has spent the past two years in Australia coaching the Brumbies.
