Tom Wood has insisted that Northampton Saints can play better following their narrow Aviva Premiership semi-final win over Leicester Tigers.
The Saints knocked the defending champions out with a 21-20 victory last night, booking their place in the final later this month.
Wood, who scored the match-winning try, told Sky Sports News: "I've always known we've had it in us. It's been frustrating to talk about being nearly men, about this omen, and this hold Leicester have had over us.
"It's a bit of a myth really because it's such tight margins, we've drawn and been very competitive. It's been so frustrating, to know you've got that in you. And we could have been so much better in this game even."
Northampton will face either Harlequins or Saracens for the title at Twickenham.
