Sale Sharks failed to secure their first win of the season with a 29-19 loss at home to London Welsh this evening.
Welsh built up an early lead after two powerful tries through captain Jonathan Mills and in-form number eight Ed Jackson.
Veteran fly-half Gordon Ross kicked the points for Welsh, while Danny Cipriani slotted three penalties for Sale to put the half-time score at 9-23.
The Sharks appeared stronger in the second half, with wing Tom Brady touching down in the corner after a long period of Sale pressure to put the score at 16-26.
Nick Macleod replaced Danny Cipriani and kicked two penalties for Sale, setting up a tense final 10 minutes.
However, any hopes of a Sale comeback were short-lived as they conceded a penalty in the final minute, which Gordon Ross converted to seal a 29-19 victory for Welsh.
