Magnus Lund has become the latest player to commit his future to Sale Sharks by penning a new two-year contract extension at the club.
The back-row forward made his return to the Aviva Premiership outfit last summer on an initial 12-month deal following six years in the Top 14 with Biarritz Olympique.
Both Leicester Tigers and Harlequins were said to be keen on signing the 31-year-old, but he has now joined Danny Cipriani in agreeing new terms at the AJ Bell Stadium.
"I was delighted to sign Magnus in the summer and he has fitted in perfectly with the squad," Sale boss Steve Diamond told BBC Sport.
"Magnus has played in 20 games this season and his consistent performances attracted the interest of two other Premiership clubs looking to try and sign him."
Lund was given his break in rugby by Diamond back in 2002, helping the Sharks to win the Premiership trophy in 2006 before going on to make 10 appearances for England.
