Saracens fly-half Charlie Hodgson will be out of action for 'a number of weeks' after fracturing his cheekbone against London Wasps.

Saracens fly-half Charlie Hodgson has been ruled out for 'a number of weeks' after suffering a fractured cheekbone against London Wasps last Sunday.

Hodgson has undergone surgery on the injury, picked up during the second half of Saracens' 29-24 win over Wasps at Vicarage Road, and the club have revealed that the former England international will miss several weeks of action.

In a statement on their website, Saracens said: "Charlie Hodgson has undergone surgery to repair a fractured cheekbone after suffering the injury in the closing stages of Sunday's Aviva Premiership victory against Wasps.

"The fly-half had surgery on Monday night and is recovering well but he will be ruled out for a number of weeks."

Saracens face Leicester Tigers in the LV=Cup on Friday night.
