South Africa director of rugby Rassie Erasmus has been heavily punished for criticising the match officials after his side's defeat to the British and Irish Lions in July.
In the aftermath of the tourists prevailing by a 22-17 scoreline, Erasmus openly expressed his frustration with a wide range of decisions which he perceived to have gone against his team.
After a lengthy investigation, World Rugby has now decided to act, banning Erasmus from all rugby for two months and from involvement with South Africa on matchdays for a year.
The governing body charged Erasmus with six counts of misconduct, concluding that he had brought the game into disrepute.
SA Rugby has also been fined £20,000, a warning to their future conduct and been requested to apologise to the respective officials.
Erasmus, who will now not have an active involvement against England on Saturday, has already revealed that he intends to appeal the decision. body check tags ::
