Alun Wyn Jones has admitted that Wales have failed to learn from past mistakes following their heavy defeat against South Africa.

Dan Biggar's early drop goal put Wales ahead for the only time in the game on Saturday afternoon as the Springboks secured a comfortable 38-16 victory in Durban.

"We were lacklustre today in possession and we know we can't afford to be that lacklustre in possession," Wales' captain Jones is quoted as saying by Wales Online.

"We saw in patches that when we kept the ball we were a test to the defence but when they turn it over that easily we are not going to score any points.

"We showed that we haven't learned from our past mistakes buy giving them freedom and wide open spaces. When we had possession, we got turned over pretty quickly."

Jones made his Wales debut in 2006, while he has also represented the British and Irish Lions.
