Novak Djokovic wants London venue changed for ATP World Tour Finals

Novak Djokovic says that the venue for the end-of-season World Tour Finals should be changed and not stay in London.

Novak Djokovic has said that the ATP should move the World Tour Finals from London when its contract runs out in 2015.

The end-of-season showpiece featuring the world's top eight players moved to the English capital in 2009 to great success, with more than a million fans present at the O2 Arena so far.

London's initial five-year contract from 2009 to 2013 was extended by two years to 2015 and tournament organisers are said to be keen to keep the event in England, but Djokovic wants it to be moved elsewhere.

"I think this tournament should definitely be organised at different places more often, not to be held in one city for more than three years. This is my opinion," said Djokovic, who won the tournament in 2008 and 2012.

"It is in the ATP's hands, obviously, to think about this kind of thinking that I have, and I know various players share the same opinion, because of the promotion of tennis, popularising the sport in a place where maybe tennis isn't as popular."

The 2013 edition began today with Stanislas Wawrinka beating Tomas Berdych in three sets.
