Roger Federer dropped just three games on his way to victory over old nemesis Rafael Nadal in their second match of the ATP World Tour Finals.
The Swiss was in imperious form and reeled off seven straight games to complete the match in a single hour.
The contest looked set to be another Federer-Nadal classic as both men looked in good form early on before Federer made the first break in game six and never looked back.
He held firm on his serve after the break to take the first set 6-3 ahead of the second set onslaught.
The 16-time Grand Slam champion stepped up the intensity with the Spaniard offering little in response.
Nadal seemed to lose his firepower from the opening exchanges of the match, with Federer producing a vintage display to win the second 6-0.
Federer's place in the semi-final is all but secured while Nadal will have to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to advance to the final four.
