Grigor Dimitrov has become the first player to seal a spot in round three of the Cincinnati Open after a 7-6 7-6 victory over Vasek Pospisil.
In an even contest, both players broke each other in the first set and after they could not be separated at 6-6, 16th seed Dimitrov secured the advantage with a 7-4 tie-break victory.
The second set continued in the same tight vein as the first, although this time all 12 games went with serve as both players saved three break points each.
It was the Bulgarian who triumphed again in the decider, however, beating Pospisil 7-5 in the tie-break to seal his spot in the third round, where he will play the winner of the clash between Mardy Fish and Andy Murray.
